Adobe increases its revenue through subscription model

Adobe has offered its Creative Suite exclusively through a subscription model (SaaS) since as early as 2013. While some have been thrown into a dither by the shift from software purchase to software leasing, for Adobe it has been an extremely successful change. In the first year since the transition to the cloud, Adobe shares rose by 81%. Before the launch of Creative Cloud, Adobe had 12.8 million customers using the various the various versions of Creative Suite. The new subscription figures show that Adobe has not only managed to convince all current users of the Cloud but has also been able to attract many new users to the Cloud. A major advantage for the users is the fact that the software will now always be up to date and the purchasing of annual updates has become a thing of the past. Source:
